What's
New at High Mesa Productions The most satisfying assignments are those that Linda and Terry get to collaborate on. In 2008 we published an article in Cowboys & Indians (September 2008) that grew out of several days we spent among the Navajo in Arizona. A few months earlier, New Mexico Magazine’s July issue featured our story about an annual lavender festival in Albuquerque. This year we will see another feature story published about the four days we spent last summer at the Taos Pueblo Powwow—stay tuned!
"I
read through Units 1-3 on Tuesday, and they're brilliant! Your writing
is engaging, and you really get the idea of what to include in the lectures.
Thanks! I'm already looking forward to seeing the next two units! "
The project has gone on to win two more awards. ******************************************** Terry presented an idea to NM Magazine to include a house that he had photographed for their April '09 special issue on the HOME. His image from the story on the Hobbit House made it to the cover: And
he was assigned to shoot the cover photo for the Jan '08 issue. "Terry,
. . . the photos are fabulous, you gave me exactly what I wanted and more.
It all looks great, and I can't wait to find time to layout this story.
The captions too: perfect! Such a pleasure working with you." In the Dec. '07 issue he had 3 photos published in the Winter's Glow
spread and Sundial. Terry
had a run of activity in New
Mexico Magazine starting off with a 6-page
article in the Nov. '07 issue. Terry was assigned to do the photographs for the story on "Tapetes
de Lana" in Mora and Las Vegas, NM. (All prints are now limited editions of 50) The state of New Mexico's Department of Cultural Affairs has an Art in Public Places program, which is a great way for artists to sell their work. State-funded buildings must reserve one percent of their construction budget for the purchase of art through this program. See http://nmarts.org/artpublic.html for more details about getting involved in this program. In February of 2009, Terry installed two prints in the new GlenRio Visitor Center on I-40 next to the Texas-New Mexico state line.
"Western Sunset," below, was purchased by the Gila Cancer Center in Silver City, NM, for its new addition.
